Moving in the Spirit is an award-winning creative youth development program. We use the discipline of dance to help children and teens develop the social, emotional and cognitive skills they need to thrive. Each year, volunteers and donors transform our studios into a winter wonderland, The Holiday Store, to celebrate our students and their many accomplishments. The Holiday Store acknowledges the intentional, focused efforts of our students in their weekly classes.

Young people at Moving in the Spirit earn “points” every class for meeting their dance and leadership commitments! At the Holiday Store, they use those points to purchase gifts for their families and friends, reinforcing their sense of accomplishment, compassion, and giving. We are hoping to have some volunteers excited to assist Moving in the Spirit and our students with the following Holiday Store roles:

Personal Shoppers - help our students keep track of their points spending as they make choices on what to buy

Gift Wrapping Specialist - help our students wrap and bag their special gifts

Cashiers - help students check out once they're done shopping

Set-Up - help our staff set up the Holiday Store for our students

Break-Down - help our staff break down after the Holiday Store shopping finishes up
